Dental emergencies are serious and should never be ignored. If a dental emergency is not treated, permanent damage can occur and more expensive dental treatments may be required. If needed, Dr. Matt Pierce or Dr. Jim Heck can provide you with emergency dental care in Greenwood, Indiana.
Emergency Dental Tips
We stress the importance of knowing what to do in the case of a dental emergency. In all cases, contact White River Family Dental and Implant Center and see our dentists as soon as possible. If you have a toothache, rinse your mouth with warm water and remove any lodged food with floss. Use a cold compress to control any swelling. In the case of chipped or broken teeth, save the pieces. Rinse your mouth and the pieces in warm water. Use a gauze pad to control any bleeding and a cold compress to control swelling. If you knock out a tooth, rinse it with water and try to reinsert it. Make sure that the tooth is facing the right way and never try to force the tooth back into place. If the tooth cannot be reinserted, place it in a container of milk and bring it with you when you see our dentists. In the case of a lost dental filling, place a piece of sugar-free gum into the cavity to protect it until our dentists can replace the dental filling.
